Microsoft is all ready to start pushing PCs running Windows 10 version 1803 and is all set with latest feature release of Windows 10 versions 1903. In May 2019 Microsoft announced regarding the updating PCs in June automatically.
Also Microsoft’s @WindowsUpdate twitter account and declared about the updating devices running the Windows 10 version 1803, i.e., the 2018 April update prior to version 1903.
According to Microsoft notes ‘ we are now starting to build as well as train the machine learning which is based rollout procedure to update devices running April 2018 update along with earlier versions of Windows 10. To make sure that we can carry out services to these devices and also to offer the latest updates along with security updates and improvements.’
On the other hand, Microsoft also provided up fixes for Windows 10 users affected by a bug that did not offer them the option of selecting key privacy settings throughout the setup. It also did not provide instructions regarding the ways to change those privacy settings.
Microsoft notifies that a small segment of Windows 10 devices have been affected by the privacy setting bug and company already released updates to deal with it in Windows 10 version 1709, Windows 10 1803 as well as Windows 10 1809.
Windows update will give the updates in case it detects that the device has been affected by the bug. After getting updates, users will see a notification which offers detail information regarding the privacy settings that were affected along with the guidance to change those settings too.
However, the company did not clarify about the issue; in fact, it affects the display of the privacy setting screen. Also, customers have been presented with an opportunity to select the setting in terms of their privacy settings at the time of setting up of their device.
Microsoft has worked upon the improvement part of Windows 10 privacy settings under the scrutiny of European privacy regulators who were not actually satisfied within what way the company informed the customers regarding the data it was collecting from them.
In fact, they are encouraging users to review their location privacy setting along with notes, so that together with the diagnostic data and improve inking along with typing settings have been updated to the lowest setting to guarantee that device has the most privacy-friendly settings.
Now Microsoft had rolled out with a new update for Windows 10 version 1809 along with many of quality improvements and bug fixes. These update process will start in late June 2019 and will be enforced.
However, it is still unclear how Microsoft plans to do it. One possible option is that it would push the updates to devices running the version of windows so that they get installed without user option.
Windows Servicing and Delivery Director of Program Management, John Cable, announced that ‘Windows 10 devices that are at or else within many months of reaching, end of service, windows update would automatically begin a feature update.’
He also added that ‘by updating these devices to the latest feature, Microsoft desires to guarantee that it can offer them with continued support.
