Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, at the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 yesterday on August 07, 2019, took the podium and broke this groundbreaking news.
“This is a new chapter of a long term commitment to improve productivity and eliminate the gap between mobile devices and the Windows PCs,” he revealed.
Yes, you heard it right, folks! Microsoft and Samsung are partnering. Moreover, they are in for a better and a bigger tomorrow and are looking forward to a long-lasting and an ever closer union. Also, all of this is in the name and deed for bridging the gap between Android mobile apps and the Windows PC.
The words have it, Samsung is planning to bundle Microsoft’s Your Phone app on its Galaxy Note 10. The Your Phone app on the Galaxy Note 10 will not just only mirror and sync your Android notifications, text messages but also your entire screen to a full-fledged Windows 10 PC. Not just this, Samsung is also creating inbuilt OneDrive sync support, right into the Android app gallery, a place where users have all their photos synced right from the cloud storage service.
Head of Microsoft’s mobile and cross-device experiences, Shilpa Ranganathan, also made an appearance on the stage and shared deeper insights related to the Your Phone app. She revealed, “Your Phone users will be able to make and receive calls directly from the PC.”
Without a doubt, this union is going to be a new virtual experience altogether, a fantastic collaboration between Samsung and Microsoft.
With Microsoft bundling its Android apps on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10, all your Microsoft office apps will also come preinstalled. Count in PowerPoint, Excel, and all your other Office apps like Word and Outlook, users will get them all in one place.
Microsoft is planning to sell the Galaxy Note 10 in their stores now with a preordered offer that will give buyers a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or a Note 10 plus along with a $150 Samsung credit and a six month Spotify premium account.
Now, if this isn’t a big reveal, what is?
