Jury finds family of 8 died by murder-suicide in cliff crash

A coroner’s jury has ruled out that the death of 8 family members- 2 women and their 6 adopted kids- who drove off a California cliff was in fact a murder-suicide.

Reportedly, the crash took place a few days after the authorities in Washington State started probing into claims that the kids were allegedly being neglected and abused by the couple.

Jennifer and Sarah Hart were both discovered dead in their SUV, right at the base of the cliff in Mendocino County on 26 March last year. The bodies of their adopted kids Jeremiah, Abigail and Markis were discovered close to the vehicle while the body of Ciera was found in the sea water a few weeks later.

The officials identified a fifth kid named Hannah using the DNA while the remains of sixth kid named Devonte haven’t unfortunately been discovered yet.

An inquest conducted this week heard that Sarah Hart had searched for ways of dying by drowning on the internet while they were in the SUV and Jennifer accelerated deliberately, thus sending the vehicle off the cliff.

Notably, the authorities had then believed that the car crash near the cliff was deliberate but still wanted official findings from a coroner’s jury.
