Since a long time, Microsoft has been rumored that it was working on a foldable device. The company is expected to unveil a foldable device very soon; however, Samsung and Huawei have by now showcased their foldable phones.

Let us know regarding what to expect from Microsoft’s foldable device. It is said that the company will debut this foldable Surface device in the initial quarter of 2020.

As per the reports by Forbes Microsoft’s upcoming foldable device will be a segment of its Surface series and will run on Windows 10.its software will be a new version with optimizations for dual display UI. The company is already working on a window Core OS, which is specially optimized for foldable form factors.

This new device will also be compatible with Android apps as well as iCloud services.  An Intel Lakefield chipset will power it along with this it will always support on connectivity with up to 5G supports.

This new foldable Microsoft device will feature a large 9-inch screen after opening. As per The Verge, the prototype codenamed Centaurus is the same as Microsoft’s Courier tablet concept, and this novel step also marks the end of the rumored pocketable Surface device which is codenamed, Andromeda.

This new foldable Surface PC will come up with two screens of 9 inch and 4:3 ratio .some more details are listed below:

  • It will use Windows 10 OS new version, i.e., WCOS (Windows Core OS) and for dual display UI, i.e., User Interface.
  • It will adopt Intel 10 nanometer system on a chip SOC.
  • It will run Android apps as well as iCloud service in Windows 10
  • It will always on connectivity function, i.e., LTE or else 5G

  Many specifications about Centaurus are still not known; however, it is reported that Microsoft could talk about its new form factor at an event in October 2019.
